Nov. 11th: Veterans Day
- O beautiful for spacious skies,
- For amber waves of grain,
- For purple mountain majesties
- Above the fruited plain!
- America! America!
- God shed His grace on thee,
- And crown thy good with brotherhood
- From sea to shining sea!
- O beautiful for pilgrim feet
- Whose stern impassioned stress
- A thoroughfare for freedom beat
- Across the wilderness.
- America! America!
- God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
- Confirm thy soul in self-control,
- Thy liberty in law.

Happy Birthday, Rosa Parks!
Born on Feb. 4, 1913, this year would have been Rosa Parks’ 100th birthday.
On Dec. 1, 1955, Parks refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. This led to a 13-month boycott of the Montgomery bus system that would help spark the civil rights movement.
Recently President Barack Obama visited the bus that Rosa Parks sat in.
February is Black History Month. Have you seen some displays around campus?

Do you know who Rosa Parks is? She is the woman to refused to give up her bus seat to a white person in 1955...and her action started major changes towards equality in the U.S.
Here is a short video about her: Rosa Parks, Mother of Civil Rights
